What We Do
Northwest Metal Products makes custom metal furniture, decorative accent pieces, signage, and fabricated parts for designers, manufacturers, and businesses across the country. Chicago is roughly 175 miles around the bottom of Lake Michigan, which makes it one of the shortest runs we make.
That distance matters more than people expect. Freight to Chicago is fast and inexpensive compared to most of where we ship, and a project that has to be seen in person is a day trip rather than a flight. Send a finished design or a rough sketch and we’ll tell you what it costs, what it takes, and when it arrives.

Are you based in Chicago?
No. Our shop is at 2055 Walker Court NW in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and it has been since 1978. Chicago is one of the markets we ship to most, and we handle those projects the same way we handle one across town: you send the design, we quote it, we make it, and we ship it to you.
Do you ship to Chicago?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Finished pieces are crated and shipped by freight to your studio, warehouse, showroom, or job site. Shipping gets quoted along with your project, so you see the full number before you order.
How long does an order take to reach Chicago?
Transit time depends on the carrier and the size of the shipment. We confirm your build schedule and your delivery date before you place the order.
Can I bring my own design?
Yes. Drawings, CAD files, photos, or a rough sketch all work. If your concept isn’t finished yet, we can help you work it out.
How do I get a quote?

Can I see a finish before I commit?

We offer a one-year warranty on all products. That said, our pieces are made to last well beyond it.
